#TravelTuesday Guest Blog
I am often on the scout for new blogs to read on different topics. I find most bloggers refreshing in that they are not scared to share an opinion and this often brings a whole range of different ideas and impressions to their writing.
I also get asked where to find bloggers to follow, so I have decided to try and feature some in my Travel Tuesday series in the attempt to introduce people to different influences.
This weeks blogger is: Cee from Ceeces Travel
1. Who are you and where are you from?
Hi, My name is Cee. I am the Editor & Founder of Ceeces Travel. Ceeces Travel is a blog and media platform that show cases Travel – Lifestyle – Events and Adventure to the world. We are also a communications brand, and work behind the scenes on many projects and campaigns with brands and tourism boards.
2. What made you want to start blogging and how long have you been doing it?
I started Ceeces Travel in 2014 after coming out of therapy for something traumatic that I had been through. I have always been a writer and due to certain events, it was the first time in my life that I had a chance to do something for me. To choose a career, to use my time and to build something for me. With the advice of my sister, I took Ceeces Travel online. I did a few courses and I taught myself basically everything I knew at the time of the industry. I previously had a successful eight year career in hospitality both locally and internationally. So I started focusing on what I knew and what I loved, which were travel & tourism. I am also an event manager by trade and so I use those skills when covering events with my team and working on projects with brands.
3. What does your blog focus on?
My blog focuses on travel, tourism, events, and adventure. Each of those topics, covers so much in this world and that is what I love most about what I do. I have never been a one thing, person. Even in my past careers, I made sure to involve myself, and teach myself all aspects about all the various positions in the industries I worked in. The more you know, the further you go is such an underrated truth. Everything I do, the brands I work with, the tourism boards I partner with, it is all towards getting back on the local and internationally road again. Traveling truly is so deep within my heart. I started with NOTHING, not even a cellphone, and I still have struggles, that somehow I work around everyday. Its not all sunsets and mimosas but it is pretty close. People need a much deeper understanding of how hard freelancers and creatives work. It is insulting to think, we are on holiday all the time. We are able to do many of the things we do, because we work for it, we sacrifice behind the scenes and we keep going.
4. What tips can you give people to grow their blog audience?
That is a very interesting question. The way things are going on the digital sphere, I honestly cant say that there is advice to be given. While blogs are certainly not dying, and their shelf life and relevance is still very dominant, I dont think blog subscribing or commenting is a thing anymore. Personally I know, while I do my best to comment on the actual blog post of my fellow writers, I much rather, comment or talk to them about their article on social media. It means other individuals can join in our topic, and the engagement experience is just that much more enjoyable. As twitter is my main platform, I often have long winding conversations about events or travels on twitter with my followers, as opposed to the odd comment on the blog site. By the conversation you can see everyone commenting as read the article, but they prefer to engage on social media. Which I understand.
5. Where can people find you? Website and Social media?
Website – Ceeces Travel
Twitter – @CeecesTravel
Instagram – @CeecesTravel
Pinterest – @CeecesTravel
Facebook Page – @CeecesTravel
6. What exciting project do you have in the pipeline for your blog?
There is something on the books, but there are a few things, that need to be finished, and settled before I can move onto new and fresh projects. Starting up your own business with no original capital etc, can be a tricky thing. It has been a rough few years, there have been bumps, losses and disappointments and we are hoping to have all the bits and bobs, sorted out and cleared before the end of 2018 so that we can work on a few amazing projects, and also possibly, launch the next phase of what Ceeces Travel is turning into………shhhhh its a secret.
7. What is the funniest experience you have had with your blog?
Hmmm funniest, I am not sure we have had a funny experience. We have had plenty memories, and adventures along the way, but nothing funny per say comes to mind. We are our happiest when we are on the road. There is no better place for Cee to be.
